What kind of credit do they require?
All of the prepaid debit card applications that I have seen require no credit check. This mean that if you bad credit or no credit that you will still be accepted.

Where can they be used
Unless otherwise noted these debit cards can be used at any location that accepts a card with the visa or mastercard logo. Occasionally a card will mention that it can only be used for online purchases or something similar, so be sure to make sure that you are selecting a card that will suit your needs.

Are there any kind of limits?
Each debit card provider sets different limits for different aspects of the prepaid debit cards usage. It is common to see a daily spend cap as well an account maximum balance.

Can I get them for other people?
Some providers do allow you get additional cards on the same account for other family memembers and spouses, but make sure to check for this feature if it is something that you are looking for as it is not too common yet. Of course the bright side is that it wouldn't be that hard to get them their own account anyway.

The monthly cost of the prepaid debit card varies from provider to provider but some even offer no monthly or annual fees as long as there is account activity or if direct deposits are made to the account.

Are they re-loadable/re-usable?
Yes, the accounts are re-usable, you can add funds to your account using several different methods such as direct deposit, retail locations, tax refunds, and even transfer from other accounts.

Do I need to have a bank account?
Most of the prepaid debit cards do not require that you have a checking or savings account.
